Stassi Schroeder is among the many celebrities, like Billie Eilish and Jameela Jamil, who have used social media to post powerful messages against body shamers.
Being in the spotlight can be a tough thing when anyone who looks at you can publicly judge and body shame on a regular basis, but many young female celebs, including Stassi Schroeder, 32, Billie Eilish, 19, Jameela Jamil, 34, and Jessica Simpson, 40, have taken a stand on the unnecessary criticism by speaking out against it. These ladies have been the victims of online scrutiny more than once in the past, but instead of letting it get them down, they chose to remind fans that embracing themselves and others, especially when it comes to physical traits, is more important than giving energy to the haters. We’re taking a look back at some of our favorite social media stances against body shamers from some of the world’s most gorgeous women below. Take a look and let their powerful messages inspire!
Stassi Schroeder shared a photo of herself crying on Dec. 30, in response to unkind DMs she has received amid the former Vanderpump Rules star’s pregnancy. “Real talk- pregnancy is hard. I don’t feel like myself. I don’t feel attractive. I feel like I’m only good for making a baby,” Stassi, who’s expecting her first child with her husband Beau Clark, wrote over the vulnerable selfie.
“I feel like I have zero control over anything. I’m uncomfortable and it’s painful to move around,” Stassi continued. “And my emotions are so all over the place, I feel insane. I’ve received lots of dm’s from people telling me I complain too much and should shut up and just be thankful I’m pregnant.”
However, Stassi made it clear that she’s grateful for the child she’s carrying: “I’ve never been more thankful for anything. Being a mother was my biggest dream and I can’t wait to meet my daughter. But I’m still allowed to struggle with it. Why is there so much pressure on pregnant women to be super heroes? Can we stop that now?”
Brittany Cartwright is another Vanderpump Rules alum who’s had to deal with online critics amid her pregnancy. The mother-to-be decided to clap back against the negativity by proudly showing off her baby bump in an Instagram post on Dec. 29, and writing, “I put this on my story but ya know what, I deserve to post this with pride. I am so proud of my body for creating my son. I have had days where I let negative comments from strangers get me down, but WHY!? I am growing a perfect and healthy human being who I have only dreamed of my entire life.” You can read Brittany’s full message, here.
After photos of Billie running errands in a tank top and shorts were criticized by some trolls online in Oct., she took to her Instagram to respond by sharing a video of influencer Chizi Duru calling out body shamers. “Y’all gotta start normalizing real bodies, okay?” Chizi said in the video. “Not everybody has a wagon behind them, okay? Guts are normal. They’re normal. Boobs sag….especially after breastfeeding. Instagram isn’t real!” Check out the full video above.
Jameela is known for speaking her mind about various topics on social media even if it’s not the most popular opinion, and that’s exactly what she did in an Oct. 15 tweet, which has since been deleted. The message she shared was in response to Billie’s body shaming situation and she made sure to remind others that the singer is “human” just like everyone else. “The lows we have stooped to when we are bullying an 18 year old pop star about her body, forgetting that not only is she human, but there are children watching our behavior internalizing our words against themselves and others, learning from you how to make this world uglier,” the tweet read.
Jessica spoke out against body shamers when she was body shamed herself for her 2007 Met Ball look. The singer took to Instagram in May to share a photo and post that addressed Vogue‘s Creative Digital Director, Sally Singer detailing that she nearly “fell out of her dress on the red carpet” during the gala. “Feeling a little like Jayne Mansfield after reading this (inaccurate!) oral history of the #MetBall where I am body shamed by #SallySinger,” Jessica wrote in the caption for her post, which featured an iconic Old Hollywood photo of actress Sophia Loren giving some apparent side-eye towards actress Jayne Mansfield, who wore a gown with a plunging neckline.
“But in all seriousness I have persevered through shaming my own body and internalizing the world’s opinions about it for my entire adult life,” she continued. “To read this much anticipated article about the classiest fashion event there is and have to be shamed by another woman for having boobs in 2020 is nauseating.”
Cardi B, 28, clapped back at haters who claimed she photoshopped revealing photos of herself she shared in June and she didn’t hold back. The rapper posted a flattering video of herself, which she captioned “Leave my rolls alone”, walking around in a bikini and speaking her mind about body shamers. “I know a b*** gained some weight, because I have to make the thighs match the motherf***ing a**,” she said in the clip. “But I know you b***hes ain’t talking when y’all shaped like seals. And I know y’all n***as ain’t talking when you got sisters with bison backs and y’all mothers are shaped like walruses. I know y’all ain’t body-shaming me!”
She concluded the video by hilariously talking about liposuction. “It doesn’t matter, though,” she said. “A b**** got [liposuction] money. I got lipo money!”
As a model, Iskra Lawrence, 30, is no stranger to being criticized for her body and she spoke out about it in an honest and bold Instagram post in Jan. 2016. The British beauty shared a bikini photo of herself that showed off her behind and captioned it with a lengthy message about the natural aspects of a woman’s body. “yeah that’s a booty and yeah it’s got some cellulite aka 🐯⚡️ tiger stripes,” she wrote in the caption before touching upon how “perfection” is “not real.”
“We don’t need to be airbrushed to ‘perfection’ it’s not real. We are more than our bodies,” she continued. “I now know my happiness comes from my loved ones my adventures travelling and learning about the world. Not by trying to live upto societies unrealistic ideals but being grateful for who I am, my health & enjoying each day. Because we are all a unique gift to the world ✨ #iskralawrence #everyBODYisbeautiful and I’m not sorry for writing paragraphs on my pics because I am more than just an image I have a voice and I will use it 🚫no airbrush 🚫no filter 🚫 no Fs given if you don’t like it lol 😛”
She also spoke to us at Beautycon in Aug. 2019 and reiterated why it’s important to not let body shamers affect one’s confidence. “I know so many people in my own life who have been body shamed so horrifically that they can’t wear bikinis,” she EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife. “I want you to remember that the beach is somewhere for you to have a human experience. Feel the sand between your toes and smell the ocean, and remember those things.”
“So anything that anyone’s ever told you that you’re not worthy, you are worthy of experiencing that in whatever you want to wear,” she continued. “It’s about you being able to live your fullest life no matter what. So, those people who have ever said anything [negative] to you that’s on them, but you go do you.”
Selena Gomez, 28, has also been a victim of body shaming by the public over the past few years and she’s spoken out about the sensitive subject in interviews and social media posts. In a caption for a Mar. 2018 Instagram post, which included a video of her and her friends on a boat, she wrote an inspirational message about body image. “The beauty myth- an obsession with physical perfection that traps modern woman in an endless cycle of hopelessness, self consciousness, and self-hatred as she tries to fulfill society’s impossible definition of flawless beauty,” the caption read. “I chose to take care of myself because I want to, not to prove anything to anyone. Wind in her sails. 🌈💜”
‘Siesta Key’: Chloe Reveals Why She Left Season 4 After Filming Took A Toll On Her Mental Health
Previews for season 4 of ‘Siesta Key’ show Chloe Trautman announcing that she’ll be leaving the show in the middle of filming, and she dished all about it in our EXCLUSIVE interview.
“I’m at a point where I really don’t want to be a part of this anymore,” Chloe Trautman says in the trailer for season 4 of Siesta Key. “Farewell everyone.” While the details surrounding Chloe’s unexpected departure are still vague, she dished more about the decision in an EXCLUSIVE interview with HollywoodLife. In the months leading up to filming, Chloe underwent an extreme mental and physical lifestyle change. She lost 50 pounds and cut “toxic” people out of her life. However, when filming for Siesta Key began again in Nov. 2020, she noticed that the “old Chloe” was starting to come back.
“In that environment, I have always been the ‘old Chloe,’ and it was like oil and water mixing filming and the new me,” she explained. “Well, I don’t like to say ‘new me,’ I like to say ‘true me.’ This season, you really see that battle of me trying to stay the course with the internal work that I’ve done. But I’m not perfect and I definitely have some bumps this season. Overall, I’m really proud of myself for putting myself out there and putting my mental health first. I think, more than ever, that’s such an important message to send — no matter what you’re doing in your life, if you’re placing yourself in an environment that’s not for your highest good, walk away from it. I’m just proud that I’ll represent that this season.”
Chloe did make the difficult decision to walk away. She said that the lack of support from her friends, who were skeptical about her transformation, was what ultimately led to the decision. “They weren’t as supportive as I think they could’ve been,” Chloe admitted. “Understandably, they were skeptical — they were wondering if this was just a phase. But for me, it just really built up. Every week, all the cast parties we’d go to, it would just build up over and over and over again. It just got to a point where I was like, ‘Alright, guys, stop trying to tear me down.’ When I didn’t feel like I had enough support from my friends and cast and production, I took a big step back.”
Luckily, it was the right decision, and Chloe told that it was “extremely necessary” for her. “I feel like I did the most work on myself in that time when I took a step back,” she revealed. “To me, in your true power, you should be able to place yourself in any environment and still stand true to who you are.”
Chloe also dished about the “breaking point” that led her to transform her lifestyle and become the person who she is today. “[In March 2020], our friend group went to Aspen and I was 50 pounds heavier than I am right now,” she explained. “I was skiing down a mountain and I was so out of shape, and I ended up falling and really hurting myself. It was in that moment that I cried out to God for help. Then, I went through a breakup with my ex-boyfriend of almost four years and my grandmother, who passed away, came to me and spoke to me on her birthday in June. My life just changed. The right people started to come into my life. I stopped drinking. I stopped partying. I really stepped back from any toxic environment or friendships I was in, too.”
Now, Chloe is “really excited” to show Siesta Key viewers the new version of herself. “I can’t wait to show people how, when you heal yourself, it’s truly the greatest thing you can ever do,” she gushed. “And how important it is to take time for yourself and mental health and meditating and all those beautiful things.” Siesta Key returns on May 12 at 8:00 p.m. on MTV.
Tom Brady Honors Ex Bridget Moynahan On Mother’s Day With Blended Family Photo
On Mother’s Day, Tom Brady made sure to honor the women he thinks are the ‘greatest of all time’ – his wife, Gisele Bündchen, and his ex – and mother of his oldest son — Bridget Moynahan.
Tom Brady didn’t leave anyone out of his Mother’s Day messages. On Sunday (May 9), the NFL icon took time to honor all the amazing mothers in his life, including his ex, Bridget Moynahan. “Happy Mother’s Day,” Tom, 43, captioned a photo he posted to his Instagram Stories. In the pic, Tom and his wife, Gisele Bündchen, stand next to his 13-year-old son, Jack, and his mother. It was a sweet, blended family photo and a lovely sentiment from Tom to his ex-girlfriend on this special day.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback also paid tribute to Gisele, 40, in his Instagram Story (“My numero uno,” he captioned a photo of the supermodel snuggling her and Tom’s kids, Ben, 11, and Vivian, 8) and with a touching post that featured all his kids. “Happy Mother’s Day, [Gisele],” Tom captioned the black and white shot of all five of them on the beach. “You love us and support us like no other. Have a special day! [heart emoji] [heart emoji].”
Along with Bridget and Gisele, Tom celebrated his mother, 76-year-old Galynn Patricia Brady. Tom posted a photo of Gisele hugging Gaylnn. “Happy Mother’s Day [heart emoji] to the best moms in the world!!”
Though Tom and Bridget called it quits in late 2006, the two have remained on good terms. However, it’s not every day that Tom makes a public gesture of affection towards his ex, so it was quite a moment when he wished her a “Happy Birthday” on April 29. That day, Bridget turned 50, and Tom celebrated by posting a photo of her alongside their son Jack to his Instagram Story. “Happy Birthday,” he captioned the photo. “We hope you have a great day!”
Months after Tom and Bridget split, the couple revealed that she was pregnant with his child. She gave birth to Jack in August 2007, right as Tom was starting his relationship with Gisele. “It was very hard for my wife to think she fell in love with this guy, and now this guy’s ex-girlfriend’s pregnant,” he said in a 2020 interview. “And it was very challenging for my son’s mom because she didn’t envision that either. But I think we all made the best of the situation, and fortunately, he’s the most amazing son.”
Halle Berry Loses Her Mind Over Xscape & SWV’s Epic Verzuz Battle: ‘Thanks For Making My Weekend’
R&B fans, it’s the Verzuz you’ve been waiting for! Tiny Harris, Kandi Burruss and the girls from Xscape just went head-to-head with the iconic SWV — and Halle Berry was here for it!
Xscape and SWV dominated pop and R&B airwaves back in the ’90s — and now they’re back to take on Instagram. The two legendary groups went head-to-head in Timbaland‘s latest “Verzuz” battle on Saturday, May 8. Halle Berry was one of many A-Listers who joined in on the event, excitedly tweeting along as the event happened live. “Love all of the ladies, thank you for making my weekend beautiful,” the Oscar winner declared in a comment as a SWV belted out their tune “Weak.” One fan replied, “@halleberry quoting an obscure but known Xscape track was not on our menu tonight.”

At one point, Kandi Burruss went viral after delivering a spine chilling whistle note during the Xscape song “Understanding.” As the music stopped, the quartet continued the chorus a cappella as the crowd sang along in the comments. For SWV’s part, the trio absolutely slayed their tune “Right Here” — which many fans declared the winning moment!
Xscape — which is made up of members Kandi, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, and sisters LaTocha and Tamika Scott — brought out hit after hit during the event. The ladies were sure to include their ultra sexy 1998 hit “My Little Secret,” which was produced by Jermaine Dupri, along with a cover of “Who Can I Run To?” and many more in the Urban Decay sponsored stream.

“What’s up everybody, it’s your girl Tiny!” the newly minted grandmother began. “And it’s your girl Kandi!” the Real Housewives of Atlanta < cast member replied, as LaTocha and Tamika joined in to say, “And we’re Xscape!” Tiny then quipped, “I don’t know what ya’ll gonna do because we haven’t started rehearsing or nothing — and SWV is going to kill ya’ll.” Pro Kandi didn’t seem to mind the competition bit, noting that they are “friendly” with SWV. “I am excited about the Verzuz — I think that it’s really cool because we get along with SWV, we have a sisterhood but it’s you know, a friendly competition,” she replied.
SWV — made up of Coko Clemons, Tamara Johnson-George, and Leanne “Lelee” Lyons — also killed it with some massive hits of their own! Their 1992 debut album spawned the sing along tunes “I’m So Into You” and “Right Here,” while 1996’s New Beginning includes “You’re The One.” It was such a blast seeing these three ladies come together for the night, and they looked like they were having just as much fun as the viewers at home.
“We are three young ladies from New York City — we are super dope,” Coko said in a promo video, as the women talked about their kids ahead of Mother’s Day. “It’s exciting just knowing all the ladies that are participating — we are all mothers. We have something to live for — we all have children — and we all grew up in this industry together,” Lelee added.
