Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and more superstars have wowed fans with incredible hair makeovers throughout the year of 2020. We’re taking a look back at our favorites right here.
2020 may be almost over, but the many memorable celebrity hair makeovers remain in amazing photos! Although this past year has been one of various challenges, some stars like Britney Spears, Kylie Jenner, Jennifer Lawrence, Ariel Winter and more didn’t let it stop them from boldly trying out newly colored and/or styled locks! To show appreciation for the brave stars who took on a new eye-catching look, we’re taking a look back and admiring our picks for the top hair makeovers of 2020.
Britney Spears gave herself two DIY haircuts in 2020! On June 15 she revealed in an Instagram photo she shared with fans that she had finally given herself bangs, after longing to have them again for the first time since childhood. However, she kept the long, blonde hair extensions that she’s worn for years. Those were the next to go as Brit ended 2020. On December 16, the “Toxic’ singer revealed she had chopped her iconic blonde locks into a shoulder length lob (read: long bob), and re- styled her bangs. “Cut my hair !!!! You know what they say …. out with the old …. in with the new !!!!! Now let us pray !!!!” she captioned the selfie.
Three days after hosting the 2020 People’s Choice Awards on Nov. 15, Demi Lovato went all in with changing up her hairstyle. At the awards show she wore two long looks, one brunette and straight that came down to her waistline, and the other a long blonde curly number. On Nov. 18 she showed off a brand new cut where her hair was completely buzzed off on one side and in the back, with her hair left slightly longer and dyed blonde on top. It is one of her best looks ever and SO fierce! What an amazing way to end 2020 with such a bold hair makeover.
Kylie Jenner changes up her hair the way most people change clothes. She went through plenty of looks in 2020, including removing her extensions and showing off her natural shoulder length brown hair just before quarantine in March. But she quickly went back to being the hair chameleon that she is. She soon rocked pink hair before going with a long bronde (brownish-blonde) look for most of summer. The cosmetics mogul then dyed her long locks red in Dec. 2020. Kylie is ending the year with the fiery color, keeping it while ringing in 2021 in Aspen, CO.
After spending the first seven months of 2020 pregnant with son Win Wilson, Ciara used the latter half of the year to try some new hair colors. In November, she dyed her long locks an icy blue, and just before Christmas she changed things up to new bubblegum pink tresses. The “Thinkin’ Bout You’ singer looks stunning no matter what color her hair is, but we love the 35-year-old’s sudden burst of experimentation.
Toni Braxton isn’t a stranger to wearing her brunette locks short. But the 53-year-old went with a near-buzz cut and had her hair dyed light blonde in Nov. 2020. “They say blondes have more fun! I’ll let you know after Thanksgiving! Wishing you and your family a healthy and happy Holiday!” Toni told fans in a Nov. 26 Instagram post where she showed off two photos of her brand new look as 2020 was coming to a close.
Fans had always known Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick‘s youngest son Reign by his long, flowing sandy locks, which had never been cut since his birth in Dec. 2014. But the kiddo wanted a change and in Aug. 2020, he got not only his first ever haircut, but a total buzzcut! While Kourt, 41, wrote “I am not ok” when unveiling his new ‘do, dad Scott loved it! He even helped Reign get it styled into a mohawk when it his hair started growing out a bit.
Jennifer’s hair makeover was for a film she was making and was really a wig! The 30-year-old actress was seen sporting the red shoulder-length look, which also included short bangs in the front, while on the set of Don’t Look Up and she looked absolutely fantastic. Although it was quite a difference from her usual blonde hair, it proved she can look great in just about any hair color!
Ariel, 22, wowed her fans with two different colors this year and she looked great in both! The Modern Family star showed off platinum blonde hair in the summer before switching to a bright pink look by the fall. She’s no stranger to various hair makeovers, though, and has been known to show off other colors like red and black.
Kaia Gerber, 19, who usually has brown hair, went for a major change when she dyed her locks pink at one point this year. Her short straight bob looked great with the vibrant tone and she appeared as confident as could be when seen out in public with it. As a model, Kaia is definitely used to incredible looks so this one was no exception! But when it came to winding down 2020, Kaia wanted her long tresses back. She debuted nearly waist-length extensions in late December.
Joe Jonas, 31, who became a father in 2020, also decided to shave off his dark-haired locks and go for a buzzcut look! The singer proved he can still look handsome even with less hair when he showed off his new hairstyle numerous times this year, including on strolls with his baby daughter. Since Joe’s been in the spotlight, he’s flaunted long locks, shorter locks and now a shaved look and we’re loving all three!
Melania Trump, 50, has also wowed with a new hair color in 2020. The First Lady debuted a lighter look from her usual darker locks when she welcomed the Christmas tree to the White House. Although the style was pretty much the same, the color change was apparent and really worked for her!
Chrishell Stause, 39, turned heads at the 2020 People’s Choice Awards when she showed up with her usual curly long locks turned straight with center part bangs! The gorgeous Selling Sunset star looked absolutely amazing with the new style and it was definitely one of the best looks of the entire award show!
President Donald Trump, 74, has also showed off a hair color change in 2020. His hair was his usual blondish color during an appearance on July 10 but by July 14, he was flaunting a natural gray color. The change got the attention of many people online and a plethora of tweets went out about it.
Kanye West, 43, was another celeb to turn heads with a hair makeover when he showed off a new short fade ‘do in July 2020. It was quite different from his look at the 9th Annual WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards in Nov. 2019, which can be seen above on the left, but it worked for him! The rapper knows how to basically take any hairstyle and make it his own, even when he tries out bold colors, which he’s also done in the past.
Jane Seymour, 69, proved that natural is the way to go when she debuted an all natural gray look in 2020. The iconic beauty normally has brown locks so the change was quite a shock to her fans but a welcomed one nonetheless! What an inspirational class act she is!
Rihanna, 32, gave us pure nostalgia when she stepped out with a mullet haircut in Nov. 2020! The “Stay” crooner is known for trying out various cuts over the years but her latest one was an awesome blast from the past that we’ve never seen before! As one of the most talented artists of our time, she unsurprisingly pulled off the look incredibly well and made us all think about bringing back the unique cut!
‘Siesta Key’: Chloe Reveals Why She Left Season 4 After Filming Took A Toll On Her Mental Health
Previews for season 4 of ‘Siesta Key’ show Chloe Trautman announcing that she’ll be leaving the show in the middle of filming, and she dished all about it in our EXCLUSIVE interview.
“I’m at a point where I really don’t want to be a part of this anymore,” Chloe Trautman says in the trailer for season 4 of Siesta Key. “Farewell everyone.” While the details surrounding Chloe’s unexpected departure are still vague, she dished more about the decision in an EXCLUSIVE interview with HollywoodLife. In the months leading up to filming, Chloe underwent an extreme mental and physical lifestyle change. She lost 50 pounds and cut “toxic” people out of her life. However, when filming for Siesta Key began again in Nov. 2020, she noticed that the “old Chloe” was starting to come back.
“In that environment, I have always been the ‘old Chloe,’ and it was like oil and water mixing filming and the new me,” she explained. “Well, I don’t like to say ‘new me,’ I like to say ‘true me.’ This season, you really see that battle of me trying to stay the course with the internal work that I’ve done. But I’m not perfect and I definitely have some bumps this season. Overall, I’m really proud of myself for putting myself out there and putting my mental health first. I think, more than ever, that’s such an important message to send — no matter what you’re doing in your life, if you’re placing yourself in an environment that’s not for your highest good, walk away from it. I’m just proud that I’ll represent that this season.”
Chloe did make the difficult decision to walk away. She said that the lack of support from her friends, who were skeptical about her transformation, was what ultimately led to the decision. “They weren’t as supportive as I think they could’ve been,” Chloe admitted. “Understandably, they were skeptical — they were wondering if this was just a phase. But for me, it just really built up. Every week, all the cast parties we’d go to, it would just build up over and over and over again. It just got to a point where I was like, ‘Alright, guys, stop trying to tear me down.’ When I didn’t feel like I had enough support from my friends and cast and production, I took a big step back.”
Luckily, it was the right decision, and Chloe told that it was “extremely necessary” for her. “I feel like I did the most work on myself in that time when I took a step back,” she revealed. “To me, in your true power, you should be able to place yourself in any environment and still stand true to who you are.”
Chloe also dished about the “breaking point” that led her to transform her lifestyle and become the person who she is today. “[In March 2020], our friend group went to Aspen and I was 50 pounds heavier than I am right now,” she explained. “I was skiing down a mountain and I was so out of shape, and I ended up falling and really hurting myself. It was in that moment that I cried out to God for help. Then, I went through a breakup with my ex-boyfriend of almost four years and my grandmother, who passed away, came to me and spoke to me on her birthday in June. My life just changed. The right people started to come into my life. I stopped drinking. I stopped partying. I really stepped back from any toxic environment or friendships I was in, too.”
Now, Chloe is “really excited” to show Siesta Key viewers the new version of herself. “I can’t wait to show people how, when you heal yourself, it’s truly the greatest thing you can ever do,” she gushed. “And how important it is to take time for yourself and mental health and meditating and all those beautiful things.” Siesta Key returns on May 12 at 8:00 p.m. on MTV.
Tom Brady Honors Ex Bridget Moynahan On Mother’s Day With Blended Family Photo
On Mother’s Day, Tom Brady made sure to honor the women he thinks are the ‘greatest of all time’ – his wife, Gisele Bündchen, and his ex – and mother of his oldest son — Bridget Moynahan.
Tom Brady didn’t leave anyone out of his Mother’s Day messages. On Sunday (May 9), the NFL icon took time to honor all the amazing mothers in his life, including his ex, Bridget Moynahan. “Happy Mother’s Day,” Tom, 43, captioned a photo he posted to his Instagram Stories. In the pic, Tom and his wife, Gisele Bündchen, stand next to his 13-year-old son, Jack, and his mother. It was a sweet, blended family photo and a lovely sentiment from Tom to his ex-girlfriend on this special day.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback also paid tribute to Gisele, 40, in his Instagram Story (“My numero uno,” he captioned a photo of the supermodel snuggling her and Tom’s kids, Ben, 11, and Vivian, 8) and with a touching post that featured all his kids. “Happy Mother’s Day, [Gisele],” Tom captioned the black and white shot of all five of them on the beach. “You love us and support us like no other. Have a special day! [heart emoji] [heart emoji].”
Along with Bridget and Gisele, Tom celebrated his mother, 76-year-old Galynn Patricia Brady. Tom posted a photo of Gisele hugging Gaylnn. “Happy Mother’s Day [heart emoji] to the best moms in the world!!”
Though Tom and Bridget called it quits in late 2006, the two have remained on good terms. However, it’s not every day that Tom makes a public gesture of affection towards his ex, so it was quite a moment when he wished her a “Happy Birthday” on April 29. That day, Bridget turned 50, and Tom celebrated by posting a photo of her alongside their son Jack to his Instagram Story. “Happy Birthday,” he captioned the photo. “We hope you have a great day!”
Months after Tom and Bridget split, the couple revealed that she was pregnant with his child. She gave birth to Jack in August 2007, right as Tom was starting his relationship with Gisele. “It was very hard for my wife to think she fell in love with this guy, and now this guy’s ex-girlfriend’s pregnant,” he said in a 2020 interview. “And it was very challenging for my son’s mom because she didn’t envision that either. But I think we all made the best of the situation, and fortunately, he’s the most amazing son.”
Halle Berry Loses Her Mind Over Xscape & SWV’s Epic Verzuz Battle: ‘Thanks For Making My Weekend’
R&B fans, it’s the Verzuz you’ve been waiting for! Tiny Harris, Kandi Burruss and the girls from Xscape just went head-to-head with the iconic SWV — and Halle Berry was here for it!
Xscape and SWV dominated pop and R&B airwaves back in the ’90s — and now they’re back to take on Instagram. The two legendary groups went head-to-head in Timbaland‘s latest “Verzuz” battle on Saturday, May 8. Halle Berry was one of many A-Listers who joined in on the event, excitedly tweeting along as the event happened live. “Love all of the ladies, thank you for making my weekend beautiful,” the Oscar winner declared in a comment as a SWV belted out their tune “Weak.” One fan replied, “@halleberry quoting an obscure but known Xscape track was not on our menu tonight.”

At one point, Kandi Burruss went viral after delivering a spine chilling whistle note during the Xscape song “Understanding.” As the music stopped, the quartet continued the chorus a cappella as the crowd sang along in the comments. For SWV’s part, the trio absolutely slayed their tune “Right Here” — which many fans declared the winning moment!
Xscape — which is made up of members Kandi, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, and sisters LaTocha and Tamika Scott — brought out hit after hit during the event. The ladies were sure to include their ultra sexy 1998 hit “My Little Secret,” which was produced by Jermaine Dupri, along with a cover of “Who Can I Run To?” and many more in the Urban Decay sponsored stream.

“What’s up everybody, it’s your girl Tiny!” the newly minted grandmother began. “And it’s your girl Kandi!” the Real Housewives of Atlanta < cast member replied, as LaTocha and Tamika joined in to say, “And we’re Xscape!” Tiny then quipped, “I don’t know what ya’ll gonna do because we haven’t started rehearsing or nothing — and SWV is going to kill ya’ll.” Pro Kandi didn’t seem to mind the competition bit, noting that they are “friendly” with SWV. “I am excited about the Verzuz — I think that it’s really cool because we get along with SWV, we have a sisterhood but it’s you know, a friendly competition,” she replied.
SWV — made up of Coko Clemons, Tamara Johnson-George, and Leanne “Lelee” Lyons — also killed it with some massive hits of their own! Their 1992 debut album spawned the sing along tunes “I’m So Into You” and “Right Here,” while 1996’s New Beginning includes “You’re The One.” It was such a blast seeing these three ladies come together for the night, and they looked like they were having just as much fun as the viewers at home.
“We are three young ladies from New York City — we are super dope,” Coko said in a promo video, as the women talked about their kids ahead of Mother’s Day. “It’s exciting just knowing all the ladies that are participating — we are all mothers. We have something to live for — we all have children — and we all grew up in this industry together,” Lelee added.
